The Quakers take home battle of the bands title

Last week saw The Quakers winning the Prince Bar’s battle of the band contest. They fought off tough competition from local lads Solid Mind and Dublin band The Knots. They battled their way through the heats, seeing off some very talented acts, along the way.

The four piece from Sligo played alot of their own, original, material, with a few well known songs, done in their own energetic, bluegrass/country rock style.

The Quakers won an €8,000 winners package from the Prince Bar. Everyone at the Prince wishes The Quakers the very best of luck, and hopes to see them playing to packed crowds, on a national stage soon.

Until then the band will be back in the Prince soon so everyone can hear their award winning music.

The organisers would also like to thank all the acts who took part and provided audiences with some memorable nights.

A special thanks to Johnny Makeshift who provided the sound system for the event, also to Aaron Casey and Eoin Costello for judging the event.
