Clonown 5k/10k run and walk this Sunday

The fourth annual 10 km run is set to take place in Clonown this Sunday, April 28, commencing at 3pm. This year the course has been measured by the AAI and a permit has been granted for the event to take place. The same route as last year will be used but in reverse, meaning the finishing line will be at the Clonown Community Centre. At 1.30pm the 10 km course will be open for walkers.

A new 5 km course is being opened this year and this run will begin at 2.30pm. This course is very flat and is ideal for those of you seeking a new personal best time. It is also a superb track for people who are new to running or dusting off the runners after a break.

The renowned tea, sandwiches, and hospitality will be available in the Clonown Community Centre after the race.

A generous prize fund exists and spot prizes will be handed out on the day. Prices have been reduced this year to €15 for the 10 km run and €10 for the 5 km run. It is advised to allow around 30 minutes before the run to register. Walkers can apply online or give a donation on the
