Westmeath will be represented at this year’s All-Ireland Chowder Cook-Off in Kinsale which takes place on Sunday April 21.
Deirdre Adamson from The Fatted Calf in Glasson will fly the county colours at the event which will see chefs from across the country battle it out to be crowned the All-Ireland Chowder Champion as part of a fun family weekend in the Cork town.
The All-Ireland Chowder Cook-Off takes place in Acton’s Hotel next Sunday and members of the public are invited to come along and vote for their favourite chowder at the competition.
Tickets for Sunday’s All-Ireland Chowder Cook-Off, which cover samples of all chowders, are €10 each, and are available at the door, as well as from Finishing Services and Acton’s Hotel, Kinsale.
