Organisations working with young people are invited to apply for funding of up to €5,000 under the youth grant scheme which has been announced for 2013.
Westmeath Community Development are pleased to announce their youth grant scheme for 2013, which makes grant monies of between €2,000-€5,000 available for projects in the county.
Applications are invited from youth groups or organisations working with young people aged 10-18 in the Athlone or Mullingar RAPID areas or other designated rural disadvantaged areas in Westmeath.
Groups can apply for funding for activities including the development of facilities where young people can meet in informal relaxed settings such as youth cafés and drop-in centres; support for projects and initiatives which promote the participation and involvement of young people in the arts and other creative activities; and support for Comhairle Na Óg as a mechanism for linking into the views, opinions, and ideas of young people in Westmeath.
One-off events will be considered, providing they are new initiatives and have a focus on reducing poverty and social exclusion.
