Midlanders, tourists, guests, and anyone out there looking for a fun-filled weekend is invited to Moate this Easter weekend for the Midlands Gathering Festival.
Organisers are promising an interactive and nostalgic experience of music, arts, culture, literature, history, and entertainment.
The legendary Irish pop/rock band Picture House, best known for hits ‘Sunburst’, ‘Heavenly Day’, and ‘Everybody Loves My Girl’, will headline Sunday night’s Love Irish, Love The Midlands concert in Dún Na Sí.
The band will be joined on the night by Meteor award winning singer Luan Parle and The Beermats, to name but two.
A Celtic Village is also planned for the weekend with a dedicated children’s entertainment area, a spoken word area, a food and craft area, as well as exotic animals, a display of vintage vehicles, and much more. The Easter Bunny is also set to make an appearance.
Other events taking place in Moate this weekend include Good Fun Friday with children’s art classes and film showcase. Tomorrow, Saturday March 30 will see a vintage rally take place in the town as well as cooking demos, art classes for adults, a flower showcase, all before Sunday night’s headliner event, Love Irish, Love The Midlands in Dún Na Sí.
