It was announced this week that CEO of Athlone Chamber, Siobhan Bigley, would be parting ways with the chamber, who have decided to make her role redundant.

John McGrath, president of Athlone Chamber said “It is with regret that the chamber board has taken the decision to make the role of CEO redundant. Siobhan Bigley has made an enormous contribution to the Athlone business community and assisted in its sustainability, growth, and development for in excess of two decades.”

The board directors will be taking over the responsibilities and tasks of Ms Bigley on a voluntary basis for the time being and the chamber offices will remain the chamber’s until the end of March at which time the offices and phones will be transferred temporarily to board members’ offices.

The day-to-day activities such as stamping export documentation for manufacturers and events such as Business After Hours will continue as normal.

“The chamber is looking forward to an active year of engagement with our valued members and providing information to them on the many activities as well as members looking for services, new members, and other day to day activities such as free seminars, representation at many local government bodies, and functions such as the Business After Hours held on a monthly basis,” added Mr McGrath.
