Love rugby? Come to Mullingar this weekend for Alone It Stands

Alone It Stands, an Irish play based on the legendary victory over the touring All Blacks rugby union team of 1978, by the Mighty Men from Munster, will be featuring an accomplished performer from Athlone in the cast: Eleanor Tiernan.

Eleanor is an original, honest, and exciting comedienne, who is fast becoming a favourite with Irish audiences.

John Breen’s hilarious comedy commemorates an encounter which was to go down in history, as the men in red took on and demolished their invincible opponents in a clash of the titans that had all the drama and excitement of any Hollywood epic. After 80 minutes of heart-stopping thrills, it was all over, and the Mighty Men from Munster had accomplished what no other Irish team has ever done, before or since: they had beaten the All Blacks, and the incontrovertible evidence was there on the scoreboard for all to see…12-0!

Don’t miss this wonderful opportunity to relive this thrilling, hilarious, heart-stopping experience!

Alone It Stands will be at the Mullingar Arts Centre tonight, Friday March 8 and Saturday March 9 March at 8pm. Tickets are €17/€14 and are available from the box office on (044 ) 9347777.
