Last night saw the first of a 10-week battle of the bands competition kick off in style.
Starting last night, Thursday February 28, the battle of the bands competition will see 14 bands playing live over 10 weeks.
There will be seven weeks of heats, and with one week already over these will take place every Thursday night starting at 10pm until April 11. Two bands will play live on the night with each band getting 45 minutes to showcase their talents in front of the judges. The winning bands from each heat will progress to the semi-finals, with the overall winning band being announced on May 2, taking home a prize package worth €8,000.
So head to The Prince Bar, Athlone next Thursday night and support your favourite act. There will be promotions running each night, plenty of cocktails, and concession stamps for Karma nightclub.
