Wild child has to wait for sentence

A 15 year-old girl who did €1,800 worth of feud-related damage at 5am had her case adjourned for another two weeks in the District Court last Tuesday (December 2 ) to await the presentation of a Probation Report on her situation.

The child, who cannot be identified because of her age, went on the rampage with another on the night of June 30 and smashed car windows at an address in Willow Park with bricks and sticks before moving on to the house where she damaged windows and a door.

Inspector Nicholas Farrell gave a figure of €1,800 as the cost of the total damage and confirmed it was feud-related.

“Adult members of the families [involved] have appeared on more serious matters,” he said. The child is in voluntary health board care and was accompanied by representatives in court on Tuesday.
