Rosemount’s Grouse Lodge continues to attract world-class musicians

Thanks to its isolated location, fantastic studios, and world-class facilities, Grouse Lodge in Rosemount has continued to attract world-famous musicians.

Just last week Scottish singer-songwriter Paolo Nutini finished recording at the studio with a night out in P Egans in Moate as well as a few pints at the Uisneach Inn. “We’re all looking forward to hearing the results of his rural retreat here in Westmeath,” said a spokesperson for Grouse Lodge.

Paolo who has performed at Oxegen as well as Glastonbury and Benicassim was with Grouse Lodge for a few weeks and is just one of many famous names who have worked in Rosmount.

My Bloody Valentine finished off their forthcoming LP there just before Paolo checked in, whilst big name producers such as Jagz Kooner (Primal Scream, David Holmes ) and Rob Kirwan (U2, PJ Harvey, Bell x1, Depeche Mode ) were there working with Irish bands on forthcoming releases. The Noisettes were back recently and a member of one of the world’s biggest ever boybands was at the studio working on solo material before Christmas. And of course they have had plenty of Irish bands in both Studio 1 and Studio 2 as well.

The studio underwent a bit of a makeover towards the end of last year and Grouse Lodge is now offering their best ever rates so whilst people think the studio is just for big stars like Paolo, it’s not - it’s for everybody.

“We can look after any local band, singer, or act, and ensure they leave with a world-class recording. Our top team of engineers can work with any type of music, any genre, and any age of act, so if you’re an up and coming solo singer or a veteran who’s always longed to record an album, we can accommodate you on both a residential and a daily basis at our two world-class recording studios with rates starting at just €350 per day,” the spokesperson added.

Acts can stay for multi-day bookings and avail of their facilities and award-winning catering.

“All our ingredients are local, organic, ethically farmed or fished, with meats from Gillivans Butchers/Moate Meats and veg sourced for us by Foxes in Mullingar. Bands can also enjoy a taste of the country life with horses, shooting, and more besides on offer when they need to take a break from recording,” they added.
