Great ideas can arise from frustrating everyday situations. Last October Clodagh, stay-at-home mum of two from Athlone, set out for a nice long evening stroll. It was a dry but cold and windy evening and it was not long before her three-year-old in his buggy announced he was “freezie coldie” and all he wanted was to go home.
So Clodagh, not one to give up on her walk, got his blanket and wrapped him up as snug as she could, only to have to repeat the procedure at least 10 times during the walk. Any movement that David made caused gaps in the blanket and draughts made him repeat “I want to go home”. At one stage the blanket, having got caught around the wheels, slipped off completely, was torn and became wet and dirty.
No such product to be found in the marketplace!
She decided she was never going to endure a disastrous walk like that again and was determined to find a way to have her son ‘as snug as a bug in a rug’ before her next outing. She searched the shops and the internet for a suitable buggy blanket, but to no avail.
A new simple solution to an age old problem
It was at this point that Clodagh decided to design her own simple solution to what must be a problem for many parents and minders of children. With advice from garment-making professionals and her own ingenuity - the SnuggleRugTM was created – a unique blanket design specifically tailored for children in buggies or strollers.

SnuggleRug is a lightweight fleece fitted rug specifically designed for children in a sitting position, ideal for all types of buggies and strollers. An ordinary blanket is bulky, loose, ill fitted, and draughty. It is often dangerous because it slips off and can get caught around the buggy’s wheels, potentially causing accident.
