Black and white is everywhere this January and mostly in the form of stripes. We have designers such as Marc Jacobs’ and Moschino’s spring ‘13 runways to thank for this trend takeover.
Chances are you already have a few black-and-white striped pieces in your closet. This year, thankfully, the trend has been updated. In 2013 it is super sleek, classy, elegant, and tailored, emulating 1960s - think mod with a twist.
This week I rummaged through H&M’s collection and their take on this trend. They offer wearable, affordable pieces that would be attractive to even the most reluctant shopper. Dresses available in store accentuate the curves and waist to give a really hot on-trend look. For the more discerning shopper, they offer a good selection of separates, allowing you to mix and match with your favourite black skinnies, giving a subtle nod to the trend.
