The Prince Bar Athlone will be holding a battle of the bands from February 7 until May 2.
The event will take place every Thursday night over a 13 week period; two bands will compete every Thursday, and the winning band on each night will progress to the semi-finals. The winners from this will play in the final on May 2.
Bands will have the opportunity to showcase both their own music and cover version as each band will have 45-minute slots on the night of their heat, they will be judged on their sound, originality, vocals, musical abilities, sound, and their ability to satisfy a crowd.
The winning band will go home with a prize package worth €8,000.
This is an ideal opportunity for new bands getting into music or bands that are already playing in music venues and would like the winner’s package to help them break into the charts.
All participants must be over 18 years old, and be free to play on the night of their heat, the night of the semi-final, and final night if they progress to this stage.
Closing date for registration is January 30.
