Longford-Westmeath Fianna Fáil TD Robert Troy opened his new constituency ahead of the new year at The Manse, Castle Street, Mullingar.
During the officially opening ceremony, which was attended by Westmeath councillors and fellow Fianna Fail TDs as well as family and friends, Deputy Troy thanked constituents for their support.
Fianna Fáil spokesperson on finance Michael McGrath formally opened the office.
Speaking after the even Deputy Troy said: “I want to thank the local business people who were in attendance and party members, over 160 in all, including the chairman of the Comhairle Dáil Vinny Bagnall and president Mick Ryan. I was delighted to present Mick Ryan with a cake for his 85th birthday. I also want to thank my colleague Michael McGrath for his support on the night. I know many of those in attendance were very pleased to discuss some of their concerns about the budget with Deputy McGrath.
“My constituency office is open five days a week with a weekly drop-in clinic held every Monday from 2-4pm. However I want to assure constituents that doors are open at any stage throughout the week.”
