Teen Aware to launch Kilbeggan music and awareness event

Local awareness group Teen Aware is planning a bigger and busier 2013, with a major music, entertainment, and awareness event being organised for Good Friday March 29 at Kilbeggan Racecourse.

Teen Aware is an annual event run on Good Friday to create awareness of issues affecting teenagers. It began two years ago to tackle the topic of suicide awareness, epxanding in 2012 to also focus on road safety awareness.

In the year ahead, Teen Aware will again focus on suicide awareness and road safety awareness, with particular attention also given to bullying and cyber bullying. Due to the increase in teen suicide, Teen Aware will be used as a platform to provide the teens who attend with information on support groups and facts about bullying.

It is also a fun day with entertainment from many high profile Irish acts - in 2012 the group were delighted to have Bressie headline, and the 2013 event is shaping up to be even bigger and better. The venue has been moved to Kilbeggan Racecourse this year to allow for this growth.

This year’s Teen Awareness event will be launched on Thursday January 10 in the Bridge House Hotel in Tullamore, with guest speakers to discuss the chosen topics and explain what Teen Aware is all about. The event will run from approximately 6-9pm.
