The week of December 14-21, the Prince Bar and Karma Club are hosting a toy drop for anyone who wishes to donate toys, gift vouchers, etc to St Vincent de Paul, who will in turn donate them to families across Athlone.
“Babies and younger children are always very well catered for in toy drops, but we would also like to encourage people to drop in vouchers, beauty sets, etc that would be greatly appreciated and enjoyed by teenagers,” said a representative from St Vincent de Paul.
To reward your charitable efforts, you will receive a free drink in the Prince or Karma as a little token of thanks.
Along with the toy drop the Prince are also encouraging people to drop in any non-perishable food (items such as tinned food, cereals, pastas, rice, etc ) which they will also compile and donate to St Vincent de Paul. These food items will then be handed out in the new year across Athlone.
The Prince Bar & Kitchen are putting together 10 food hampers, with the aid of their very generous suppliers, to make sure families’ needs are covered for Christmas dinner this year - everything from the turkey and vegetables to dessert is covered, so families won’t have to stress about this added expense.
