An advanced training course for Westmeath people involved in next year’s Gathering has been arranged by Fáilte Ireland, and will be held in the Mullingar Park Hotel on Monday morning, November 19.
The workshop - entitled ‘How to Attract International Visitors to Your Gathering in 2013’ - will be delivered by an IT trainer who has knowledge of The Gathering Ireland website, and is an expert in social media.
A manual will also accompany the training session, which is to run from 10am to 1pm.
“The training is designed for Gathering organisers who are in some way comfortable with technology,” said Michael Brady, enterprise development officer with Fáilte Ireland in Westmeath.
“If you are responsible for organising and promoting your Gathering event then you should come along. To get the most out of these sessions, it would really help if you are comfortable with using the internet and have possibly even used some of the social media networks, like Facebook, Twitter, or LinkedIn on a personal or business level,” he added.
