The Moate Partnership Group is calling on the community to get involved in ensuring that Moate is lit up this Christmas.
Moate is well renowned for its excellent Christmas light display; however given the challenging economic climate, funding for this year’s lights display is under extreme pressure.
In an effort to raise funds to ensure that Moate is lit up this Christmas, Moate Partnership is holding a fundraising social night in the Grand Hotel on Saturday November 24 at 9pm.
Michael O’Brien from the Moate Partnership Group said that, “this promises to be a great night and it gives everyone in the local community an opportunity to play their part in lighting up Moate for Christmas while having an enjoyable night”.
“The night will also be used to make a few announcements of some new and exciting initiatives for 2013,” he added.
There will be a punch reception at 9pm followed by music and refreshments. Tickets cost €5 and go on sale this week.
Tickets will be available from local businesses and members of the Moate Partnership Group will be out in the community selling tickets prior to the event.
