Ryan Sheridan to expand thank-you gig at Uisneach Inn

Fans disappointed they couldn’t get tickets to the Ryan Sheridan gig planned for the Uisneach Inn tomorrow night (Saturday September 29 ) will be delighted to hear the show has been extended to a marquee in the car park, and a limited number of additional tickets have been made available.

After pulling out from headlining the Festival of the Fires in May, Ireland’s newest rock star Ryan Sheridan promised the promoters he would return, and a “special low price gig” was organised for the Uisneach Inn in Killare.

“True to his word, he promised Westmeath fans he’d make it up to them, and we’re chuffed it’s in the Uisneach [Inn] at the bottom of the hill he was supposed to play. It is a bit of poetic justice,” said promoter Ronan Casey from Grouse Lodge recording studio.

Sheridan (30 ), an up-and-coming singer/songwriter from Monaghan, best known for his single ‘The Dreamer’ which featured on a national TV ad campaign where the hero gets stuck on a train to St Petersburg, was scheduled to play on May 5.

“He was disgusted he couldn’t play at the iconic Festival of the Fires, but he was offered a once in a lifetime opportunity to appear in the US in front of music industry bigwigs,” explained Casey.

“This showcase probably led to the Heineken campaign and other licensing deals. It’s led to the big league in both Europe and the US. We were sad to lose him then, but we couldn’t stand in his way. It’s only fair,” he added.

Tickets are €15, and are available from the Uisneach Inn, from Ticketmaster outlets, and on ticketmaster.ie

Doors open at 7.30pm, with Ryan Sheridan expected on stage at around 9.30pm.
