AAW launches free primary school education programme

Athlone Animal Welfare believe education is crucial to preventing animal welfare and environmental issues.

To support this belief AAW have developed a free primary school programme which consists of themed workshops on responsible pet ownership, the needs of animals, and environmental concerns. The workshops are free, interactive, and most importantly fun, engaging children at all levels.

The programme raises awareness of key environmental and animal welfare issues eg litter, recycling, use of poop scoops, and pet care. It encourages children to care for and maintain our environment, its wildlife, and their own pets.

It is delivered by dedicated educational officers and ultimately aims to proactively prevent neglect and cruelty to animals and to promote environmental awareness in the younger generations.

AAW are now taking bookings for the coming school year; if you are interested in availing of the free workshops please contact AAW at [email protected] or by calling (085 ) 1657200.
