Horseleap Harvest Fair remembers Christy McGuinness

In its second year, the Horseleap Harvest Fair takes place this year on Sunday August 19 behind Paddy Ryan’s pub in Horseleap. LARCC Cancer Support Centre is delighted to be the chosen charity for this year’s event and indeed it is a fitting partnership as the fair takes place in memory and in honour of well-known and highly regarded local man Christy McGuinness who unfortunately died of cancer in 2010.

The day will be jam-packed with all sorts of activities, with a marquee being set up for exhibits, and a number of competition categories. A tug-of-war contest, turf footing exhibition, various fun sports and a bouncing castle make this day one for all the family to enjoy. Live music and an all-day BBQ means no one will go hungry either.

This year the committee are delighted to confirm that there will be a falconry display as these majestic birds command the skies overhead for a few hours. To top off the festivities, live music will be provided into the wee small hours in Paddy Ryan’s pub.ill check

There are a number of great prizes up for grabs in the harvest fair raffle with tickets on sale now from Horseleap and from the LARCC Centre. With tickets priced at just €5 each, the prizes include tickets to the All-Ireland Hurling Final and two tickets to see Bressie (LARCC’s ambassador ) in concert in the Olympia in September.

LARCC wish to thank the hard-working committee for choosing them as the recipient charity for this fun event and encourage everyone to come out and enjoy the day and support local cancer support services.
