Athlone event to prepare for IEC

Are you aged between 18 and 35? Looking for something to do this Good Friday night April 6? Ardagh and Clonmacnois Diocesan Youth Ministry Centre are hosting an information evening in Athlone about the Youth Space at the 50th International Eucharistic Congress which takes place this June in Dublin.

What is the Youth Space?

‘Go! Be Church!’ invites young people aged 18 to 35 to take part in the youth programme at the 50th International Eucharistic Congress, which takes place in Dublin from June 10-17.

The line-up includes morning praise and a variety of workshops, ranging from drumming to song writing, street evangelisation, dancing and drama, and talks on a number of faith topics given by dynamic speakers. There will be plenty of opportunities for socialising and getting to know people.

Why would you go?

Why wouldn’t you go? It’s an amazing experience in our own back yard. People are travelling from all over the world to attend this international gathering. It is an opportunity to meet people and be involved in a once in a lifetime experience.

The youth programme has been developed to meet the needs of young adults as they face the challenge of being a follower of Christ in modern times. In a time when people are busy and the focus is not always on faith, this is an opportunity to take time to reflect on God and his love.

Come along to the information evening in the Youth Ministry Centre, St Mary’s Hall, Northgate Street, Athlone on Good Friday April 6 at 8pm.
