Grovelands retains All-Ireland Centre of Excellence award for eighth year

Grovelands Childcare Athlone has been awarded an All-Ireland Centre of Excellence award by Early Childhood Ireland for the eighth consecutive year at a ceremony in Belfast recently. Grovelands Childcare is the only childcare provider in the country to have retained this prestigious honour for eight consecutive years at all five of its childcare facilities in Athlone, Mullingar, and Tullamore.

The All-Ireland Centre of Excellence Awards acknowledge childcare providers who deliver excellent standards of care and early education in Ireland. Award recipients have achieved excellence in a range of areas including curriculum; health, safety, and hygiene; diet and nutrition; and physical environment.

Regina Bushell, managing director of Grovelands Childcare who is celebrating 35 years in the childcare field this year, said, “We are thrilled with this award and the team should be very proud. It is a great accomplishment to be the only childcare provider nationally to retain this honour for eight years.”

CEO of Early Childhood Ireland, Irene Gunning, said, “I want to congratulate the team at Grovelands Childcare for this big achievement. We encourage our members to shine a light on the quality child-centred services they provide every day, and of course it is the children who are the real winners being on the receiving end of this great work. Well done to everyone involved and keep up the good work.”

Grovelands Childcare is a pioneering, successful business that has been in operation for 20 years and currently employs 77 people.
