With the date set and the wheels now officially in motion, the crew behind the Helium Micro Music Festival in Ballymahon are delighted to be able to officially announce the headline acts for this year’s festival, with full details on the confirmed acts to be announced at the event launch this Saturday night, March 31 in Skelly’s Bar, Main Street, Ballymahon. Free entertainment on the night will be provided courtesy of festival favourites Arrow in the Sky and the launch will provide a chance for local supporters of the charity event to buy their festival tickets direct on the night!
In a major coup for the boutique charity event, Northern Ireland rockers Ash will top off the bill for Helium 2012 on June 9 – with the recently reformed four-piece performing one of their only Irish gigs of the summer in Ballymahon, Co Longford! The magical walled garden setting will be a fantastic place to come and enjoy all of Ash’s greatest hits as they perform at Helium as part of their Greatest Hits Tour having released their compilation album in October 2011.
In addition to Ash, the Helium Main Stage will also play host to another Northern Irish export and success story Duke Special.
The Helium Crew are also thrilled to be able to announce two time Choice Music Award winners Jape for this year’s festival. The Irish electronic rock band is a four-piece outfit from Dublin. They released their most recent album Ocean of Frequency in 2011 and were awarded their second Choice Music Award just weeks ago!
The Kanyu Tree have also been added to the line-up. The sibling Irish pop trio will bring a fresh and familiar sound to the Helium Main Stage.
