Ever fancied giving acting a try?

A one day Acting for Camera Workshop, run by professional stage and screen actor, Peter (Sam ) Corry, will take place at Passionfruit Theatre on Sunday December 7 from 10am to 6pm.

A practical, hands-on introduction to the craft of acting for the screen, this is your chance to explore acting in a friendly, safe, and supportive environment. You will develop confidence, learn camera skills and ultimately get a taste of what it’s like to work in front of the camera!

Beginners welcome and open to all levels/experience, the workshop is open to all ages from 16 plus.

Peter (Sam ) Corry, Athlone native, is a professional actor, best known for playing the role of Alex on RTE’s The Clinic. He presently teaches Acting for Camera at Ireland’s premier drama school, the Gaiety School of Acting in Dublin. He has performed on stage and screen in Ireland, UK, and South Africa. Among the stage parts he has played are, Alec, in Alan Stanford’s adaptation of Jennifer Johnson’s novel, How Many Miles To Babylon?, in the Helix Theatre, Pig in Disco Pigs, at RADA at the John Gielgud Theatre, London and also Sebastian in Twelfth Night in the Dublin Fringe Festival.

He has just completed filming lead roles in feature films Ghost Machine and Next, which will be released next year.

In addition to full time training at the Gaiety School of Acting, he has trained in the Meisner Acting Technique, with Scott Williams in London, and The Method with Wolfgang Wimmer – Germany’s finest acting coach.

The course will run on Sunday December 7 from 10am and 6pm in the Passionfruit Theatre, Northgate St, Athlone and costs just €80.
