Rahugh Drama Group are busy rehearsing The Chastitute by John B Keane. The play will be staged on March 2, 3, 4, 9, and 10 in Rahugh Hall.
With a cast of over 20 people the play features many new faces together with some familiar ones.
A chastitute? What’s a chastitute? John Bosco is oníe - and has spent most of his adult years trying to lose the label. He is a bachelor farmer and all seeking is a plain, decent woman to share his life. This comedy follows his adventures (or misadventures ), he is aided by Micky Molly, the local matchmaker, and Sylvester Brady, the townie, with a reputation of vast experience with the opposite sex. Will he be successful?
Attending a play in Rahugh is a wonderful night out. Rahugh is in the parish of Kilbeggan and just a short drive from Tullamore and Mullingar. On arrival you will be greeted by the friendly reception team, presented with a programme, and ushered to your seat in the beautiful, warm, and comfortable Rahugh Hall.
Every year the cast and crew of Rahugh Drama work tirelessly to build amazing sets, put on spectacular performances which have audiences coming back year after year.
Last year’s production saw the group perform to packed houses for eight nights running they and donated around €3,000 to local worthy causes.
