The Fish Market, with shops at Castle Street, Mullingar and Market Square, Longford are delighted to announce that they have achieved membership to the prestigious Bord Iascaigh Mhara (BIM ) Seafood Circle for 2012.
The Seafood Circle was developed by BIM to support and champion retail and hospitality outlets that continually offer excellent quality seafood and service to their customers. The Seafood Circle plaque is presented to members on an annual basis and BIM encourage customers to seek outlets with this badge of honour in order to be assured of the best seafood available.
George Stephens, proprietor of The Fish Market explained how membership of the BIM Seafood Circle will benefit the business, “We are absolutely thrilled to have been included in the list again this year. The Fish Market opened its shop in Mullingar in 2008 and recently opened an outlet in Longford at Kieran Masterson’s Country Garden Fruit & Veg shop at Market Square Longford. Quality and freshness are the cornerstones of the business. George said, “I believe poor quality and lack of freshness has turned many people off seafood.” There is a huge difference between fish that is fresh from the market every day and fish that has been hanging around shop counters for a few days waiting to be sold.” George explained that he will personally travel to the fish market in Dublin each morning to ensure that the fish sold in his shops is of the highest quality.
As many of George’s customers are under pressure for time these days, they have developed a number of innovative oven ready seafood dishes with your choice of marinade. The oven-ready meal can be simply put in the oven and is ready in 15 minutes. They also do freezer orders or will source specific customer requirements at the market each day.
