This year’s Westmeath Rose of Tralee, Teresa Donohoe, has been invited to join a group of Roses, escorts, and Adi Roche to visit an orphanage in Vesnova, Belarus in aid of the Chernobyl Children’s Project International.
All of the volunteers who travel to Vesnova are medical people going out to do a specific job such as heart specialists, dentists, nurses, etc. They don’t usually have volunteers like the Roses and escorts travelling to Vesnova just to spend time with the children, so this is a real treat for them. Teresa, along with the other Roses will be visiting the orphanage for five days, from February 13-18.
Before leaving for Vesnova, Teresa has organised two very exciting fundraising events.
On Saturday January 21, Teresa will host a dancing extravaganza in Tuar Ard, Moate. Everyone is welcome to join the Westmeath Rose for a fun-filled night of dance and special guests. Artists on the night include On Your Toes, Art in Motion, Dancezone Stage School, Sharleen McCaffery Set dance School, Ganley and Reynolds School of Irish Dance plus many more.
Then on Sunday January 29 Teresa will host a sponsored walk in Mount Temple at noon.
There’s nothing better than a Sunday morning walk, taking in the lovely scenery around Mount Temple Village. The walk will start and finish at Mount Temple hall and there will be light refreshments after.
All money raised goes directly to the Chernobyl Children’s Project International.
