Some 21 health care assistants were awarded with FETAC Level 5 Health Service Skills Certificates at a graduation and award ceremony at the Education Centre, Portiuncula Hospital Ballinasloe, last Wednesday.
Health care assistants from the region who successfully completed the FETAC Health Service Skills Certificate in partnership with the HSE were presented with their certificates by Mary Frances O’Reilly, director of the Nursing and Midwifery Planning and Development Unit, HSE West/ Midwest.
Margaret Burke, specialist co-ordinator of the Centre of Nursing and Midwifery Education, congratulated the health care assistants and their families on the achievement of their awards, saying “Our focus is always on the patient and we should always have an awareness of the need to support them on their care journey”.
Certificates were presented to 50 participants who successfully completed the Occupational First Aid Module, FETAC Level 5 by human resource manager at Portiuncula Hospital, Eamon McManus.
