Dolphin Music Group is also proud to present The Essential Mick Flavin 2CD Collection, As Good As I Once Was, featuring 40 of his finest songs including all his greatest hits and many new recordings.

Mick was born into a family of six children in Ballinamuck, Co Longford. He is married to Mary, and they have two grown-up sons Michael and Brian, who were born profoundly deaf. He won his first talent competition when he was 10, and was playing with a band by the age of 16. As a young man he worked as a carpenter by day and sang at night in local pubs and clubs, never dreaming that he would hit the big time one day. Success beckoned when he released his own 10 track cassette called My Kind Of Country, which brought him to the attention of music stations and record companies. He released his first album, I’m Gonna Make it After All in 1987, which was a big success.

Highlights of Mick’s career include becoming the first Irish Country Artist to be nominated for the Country Music Association’s Global Artist Award in 2005. He also shared the stage with such legends as Tammy Wynette, Waylon Jennings, and Boxcar Willie at Wembley stadium in front of 10,000 people. Mick’s popularity is not confined to this country. He was voted the No.1 Male Country Singer in Britain in 1995,1996, and 1997.

Having released many albums to date, Mick’s career is still going from strength to strength and he performs in concert on a weekly basis. His fans follow him everywhere, abiding by the mantra, Keep Travellin’ To Flavin.
