Mercedes-Benz Actros wins Truck of the Year

Mercedes-Benz in Ireland has welcomed the announcement that the new Mercedes-Benz Actros has been voted International Truck of the Year 2012.

This is the fourth occasion on which the flagship of its commercial vehicle fleet has won the coveted award. It first won the award in the year of its introduction in 1997 – a success repeated in 2004 and 2009.

Due to arrive on the Irish market early next year, the new Actros has numerous features which Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicles sales manager Fergus Conheady said will find favour with Irish operators.

Key features include the degree of comfort it will provide for long-distance drivers, its driving dynamics, fuel economy, low emissions, and the level of profitability it can deliver for owners.

Commenting, Fergus Conheady said “We are proud of this success which now makes Mercedes-Benz the most successful brand in its sector in terms of its prize-winning performance”.
