Past and present students unite for Moate Business College exhibition

Moate Business College presents Glimpses, an exhibition of art works from past pupils in Tuar Ard gallery and theatre on December 1 at 8pm. Works being exhibited include painting, animation, sculpture, installation, and print making. There will also be a performance art piece on the night. The exhibition will be opened by internationally acclaimed Irish artist Paul Proud.

Paul Proud is an internationally acclaimed Irish artist whose paintings of water are much sought after. His affinity with the tides and swells is evident in the way he has captured the individuality and magical light of each of his subjects. He has brought all of these magical seamarks alive on canvas in his own inimitable way, creating a living tribute to the functions and appeal they have provided through the years.

One artist displaying her work on the night is Nollaig Molloy. Since completing the art and design portfolio course in Moate Business College, Nollaig Molloy has continued her studies in the National College of Art and Design, Dublin, specialising in sculpture. Nollaig has exhibited in local exhibitions in Roscommon and recently completed a gallery internship in London. “My work has progressed and continued from an interest in site specificity and different environments to a great interest in space and installation, using basic materials and techniques that support my fascination for construction. I have carried on with a challenging and exciting education since Moate Business College, one which has fuelled my passion and drive to be an artist.”

Other artists exhibiting on the night include Fiona Flaherty, Jason Watts, Kevin Connolly, Vincent Devine, Tara Mulvihill, and Padraig Hanniffy.

There will be a wine reception on the night.
