Award winning play to be broadcast on Athlone Community Radio

Athlone Community Radio 88.4FM will broadcast the award winning play Chasing Butterflies on For Arts Sake on Wednesday November 16 from 6-7pm.

Following its successful production at the Cork Arts Theatre in November last year, Dragonfly Theatre’s Siobhán Donnellan’s first one-act play was produced for radio under the BAI Sound and Vision scheme. The play tells the story of two parents recalling the night they each lost a child; one to death, the other to darkness.

Chasing Butterflies was produced, recorded, and edited by radio producer Alan Meaney. Having worked for over three years in Athlone Community Radio, Alan has experience in producing radio plays. Recording took place in August at Athlone Community Radio studios and other locations in the area and featured the original award-winning cast and director. The play has just finished a successful run at the Galway Theatre festival.

Tune into For Arts Sake between 6pm and 7pm on Wednesday November 16 to hear Chasing Butterflies on Athlone Community Radio 88.4FM and www.athlonecommunityradio.ie
