Connacht Intermediate Final (Kiltoom, Saturday, 2pm )
Roscommon intermediate champions Padraig Pearses are bidding to create history when they take on Mayo’s Davitt’s (Ballindine ) in the Connacht intermediate decider in Kiltoom this Saturday.
Having slipped down from senior ranks last year the team, under manager Seamus Clogher, have reacted well to that rather humbling experience. They have already secured their return to senior ranks for 2012 and look well equipped to add the Connacht intermediate crown to the cabinet this weekend.
They booked their place in the decider with a well deserved win over Galway side Kilconly in Kiltoom last weekend. Their opponents this weekend are neighbours of Kilconly on the Galway/Mayo border.
Pearses will be looking for big performances from the likes of Paul Kelly, John Connell, Niall Daly, Niall Finneran, Mike Duignan, and Aaron Fehilly while Conor Daly who made his club senior debut when introduced last weekend is likely to see action again.
Mike Conroy will be the main man up front for Davitt’s and provided his influence can be curbed the Woodmount men should be celebrating on Saturday night.
