Clodagh McKenna drives on in a Volvo XC60

Celebrity chef Clodagh McKenna leads a very busy life these days. Not only are there the books, the TV and radio appearances and the cookery school at the Lyons Estate outside Dublin, but recently Clodagh added Homemade by Clodagh @ Arnotts to her credits.

The two popular eating spots in Arnotts, the Aspire and Studio Restaurants will now be operated by Clodagh and her team. The two store restaurants will benefit from Clodagh’s control of the menus, the food prepared in the kitchen, and the styling of the public areas.

To help Clodagh manage this busy lifestyle she recently added the role of Volvo brand ambassador to her CV. “I am back and forward between Dublin and the Lyons Estate on a daily basis,” Clodagh recently told the Advertiser, “so having a safe and comfortable car is vital.”

“But also the way the car looks and feels plays an important part in how I feel when I arrive at my destination. I like the higher driving position of the Volvo XC60 and the seats are truly outstanding. I also love the curvy coupe design and the seductive and stylish Scandanavian interior of the XC60. The Volvo style fits well with my design and style ethos.”

“My Volvo XC60 R-Design in Black Sapphire more than meets my transport needs. The 163 bhp D3 diesel engine is great for getting a push on when the need arises, but it is economical and low on emissions. The XC60 is large enough to carry both the people and equipment that I need. And knowing it is fitted with Volvo City Safety is reassuring so, if I get distracted in traffic on the journey out of Dublin, the car will help reduce the possibility of a traffic jam shunt. Volvo’s safety features are legendary and this is a very real, practical example of how it helps Volvo owners. Volvo’s brand message is designed around you and I would not argue against that.”

Volvo Car Ireland, David Baddeley, managing director Volvo Car Ireland told the Advertiser, “we are delighted to be associated with Clodagh, an Irish chef demonstrating the very best of the Irish food movement and business entrepreneurship. We hope to organise for Clodagh to visit a number of our dealerships around Ireland over the coming months to share some of her cooking and driving tips with Volvo customers.”
