The u15 Premier League has kicked off and Temple Villa weren’t short of goals when they welcomed St Joseph’s and delivered an 8-1 hiding at Mount Temple.
It was the visitors whostruck first through Cathal Shields but Villa equalised shortly afterwards from a Chris Roche free kick. The home side buckled down into the driving seat despite some fine goalkeeping by Ronan McAlary.
Stephen Byrne then set up Chris Roche for his second before finding a hat trick just before half-time. Chris Roche found the net again to leave the scoreboard reading 3-1 at the interval.
St Joseph’s, who had a number of their top players out through injury, were hit by a Patrick Sleator goal after a Spanish native made it five.
Chris Roche had a day to remember when he found his fourth, while goals from Aaron O’Neill and Stephen Connolly left Temple Villa at the top of the table.
Under 9s
Next weekend sees the start of the ADSL u9 series of games. These games are five-a-side with three periods of 15 minutes apiece. There are four venues this weekend. These are fun games and we hope the games are enjoyed by all.
