Cross country county finals for Mullingar on Sunday

The breath taking views at Belvedere will be on offer as it opens its gates on Sunday next for the Westmeath AAI cross country for even ages, with the uneven ages taking to the course on Sunday week.

It’s the same venue that will host the Leinster championships on October 30 ahead of the National Championships in Sligo on November 27.

Sunday’s event will cater for the under 10s, 12s, 14s, 16s, and 18s with a starting time of 11am. The following week will cater for the under 9s, 11s, 13s, 15s, 17s, and 19s.

Meanwhile Mullingar Harriers had plenty to be proud of last Sunday after taking home eight gold medals, one team silver and one team bronze at the Star of the Sea cross country event in Stamullin in County Meath. The Westmeath club, Mullingar Harriers, also took home the shield for the best juvenile club for the seventh year in a row.
