‘The Sea Inside’ exhibition opens today

Gavin Hogg is a painter and printmaker. A new exhibition of his recent works entitled ‘The Sea Inside’ opens at The Gallery in Roscommon Arts Centre this Friday September 23 from 5.30-7pm. All are welcome.

In this exhibition Gavin will present a selection of work created during the last two years. Hogg’s work varies in format from large scale pieces combining print, painting, and collage to smaller works in a single medium. The work itself is deeply concerned with how each piece is visually structured, the use of pattern, and the role of the unconscious in the artist’s creative process.

Gavin Hogg studied painting in Limerick School of Art & Design and Birmingham Institute of Art, England, completing a Masters Degree in Art in 1988. He has exhibited widely in Ireland and abroad, being represented in many national collections. In 1993 he was a double award winner in EV+A, and in 2010 received a bursary from the Arts Council. Gavin has a studio in Limerick City where he is exclusively focused on the development of his work.

This exhibition continues until Thursday October 27 and can be viewed during centre opening hours. All are welcome and admittance to the gallery is free of charge.
