Midlands Simon is delighted to announce that the current Westmeath Rose, Teresa Donohoe has become a volunteer and will be supporting their work in a number of ways.
Over the course of the year Teresa will be helping Midlands Simon to raise much needed funds, raising awareness of the issue of homelessness, and showing that we all can be the key to ending homelessness.
Teresa is one of many people who are showing solidarity for those experiencing homelessness in the Midlands by volunteering with Midlands Simon. Anyone can become a volunteer and help in a number of different ways.
A native of Mount Temple, Teresa recently graduated with a BA in Irish Music and Dance from University of Limerick. She has decided to put her skills in several dance styles to use whilst supporting the Simon Community. One of the ways that Teresa is hoping to help is by teaching children the ‘Haka’! Teresa, who is a professional dancer and dance teacher, will visit any primary school in Westmeath to show children how to do the Haka, which is perfect timing given the Rugby World Cup is almost upon us.
CEO Midlands Simon, Tony O’Riordan, said “We are delighted that Teresa has chosen to volunteer with Midlands Simon and we would like to say a huge thank you to her for her fantastic support, especially given her role as Westmeath Rose.”
Speaking about the partnership, Ms Donohoe said, “I am delighted to have the opportunity to work with all the staff and volunteers of the Midlands Simon Community to help raise much needed funds.”
