Due to ongoing road maintenance on the N6 Athlone Relief Road, the following traffic restrictions are now in place until approximately September 2.
The N6 Athlone Relief Road will be down to one lane in each direction utilising a contraflow between junction 13 (Monksland ) and junction 12 (Roscommon ) until approximately September 2.
The westbound entry at junction 12 (N61 Roscommon ) and the exit at junction 13 (Monksland ) will be closed for two weeks. Diversions are signposted and shown on the council website.
Motorists are warned that the diversion in place due to the closure of the westbound exit at Junction 13 will be via the preceding exit - junction 12 (N61 Roscommon Road ) and via the Old Galway Road. The first available exit for westbound traffic after junction 12 will be junction 14 at Ballinasloe East.
