Westmeath’s u16 footballers saw off the challenge of neighbours Roscommon in the final of the Fr Manning Cup. Played in winter-like conditions a Luke Loughlin hat trick played a big part in the win for the Lake County.
This is the sixth time Westmeath have won this prestigious competition and the first time in five years.
With Westmeath also into the final of the Gerry Reilly tournament, things are looking up at underage level in the county.
