The stakes will be high when Clann na Gael and St Aidan’s take to the field in Kiltoom this Sunday at 5.30pm in a relegation final.
Make no mistake about it, performance here will count for little - the result is all that matters. A win will maintain senior status while the losing side will be consigned to intermediate status for 2012.
Both clubs have a proud tradition and the prospect of making the drop will not sit well with either. A combination of injuries and lads gone travelling has been a significant factor in landing both sides in their current predicament.
In what promises to be an intriguing clash I expect Clann to have enough firepower to maintain their senior status in this their 75th year in existence.
