On first seeing Butterfly Kisses Adult Boutique in Mullingar was for sale, Anne Gilhooley dismissed the thought immediately, thinking there was no way she would be able to handle a business of such magnitude at only 20 years old. However, having completed her childcare training and resisting the urge to settle in a comfortable, safe job, she decided to email Nicola, the previous owner. A few hours later she replied, and within minutes Anne had bought the business.
“I finished my childcare course on May 20 and officially took over Butterfly Kisses on May 21. I was truly astonished of how supportive everyone was of my new business venture. So I started Butterfly Kisses with a huge support network which meant the world to me and I can never thank them enough for that,” says Anne.
“This is when I began making a list of my goals for Butterfly Kisses. I want to maintain the environment Nicola had in the shop which was one of warmth, discretion and always a friendly face welcoming you when you walked in.”
As well as running Butterfly Kisses, Anne hopes to organise social events in Mullingar and surrounding areas.
