Westmeath minor hurlers bid for place in Leinster final

Westmeath v Dublin ( Saturday, 7pm, Parnell Park )

Westmeath’s minor hurlers will look to create history by claiming a place in the provincial decider when they take on Dublin in Parnell Park on Saturday evening. Having already beaten Laois, Carlow, and Offaly and ran Kilkenny to two points, confidence is high that they can get the better of the Metropolitans.

Ray Gavin’s men have beaten Dublin earlier in the year and also did so at u16 level so they have nothing to fear. With hurling in the capital on a high at the moment Dublin are sure to have a huge support but if the young Westmeath men can continue to show improvement then they have every chance of booking a place in the Leinster decider.
