Ford's all-new C-Max lifestyle MPV the segment sales leader in Ireland with 23 per cent market share. It is also surpassing sales expectations across Europe recording more than 100,000 sales and orders since its launch late last year.
To meet demand for the five-seat C-Max and seven-seat Grand C-Max, Ford has increased the line speed at its plant in Valencia, Spain. The result has been an almost 18 per cent increase in daily C-Max production at the plant.
“In spite of the general business downturn, sales of the car in Ireland since its launch last November are at a respectable 640 units,” Eddie Murphy, managing director of Ford Ireland told the Advertiser. “With its low emission engines and extra versatility, C-Max has found favour with Irish families and continues to be an important model in our 2011 line-up.”
A high percentage of customers are choosing well-equipped versions of the Ford C-Max. In fact, 65 per cent of C-Max sales have been high-series trim levels, such as the Titanium spec. versions, compared to 32 per cent over the same period a year ago.
Ford market research shows that C-Max customers in Europe reported that the vehicle’s design, technology, and driving characteristics have attracted them to the vehicle. The Ford Grand C-Max’s sliding rear doors are also proving a top feature with customers.
