It is not often that you can go out and have a good time while also helping your community, but that is what is happening in Moate on the afternoon of June 19 when the Moate Dún na Sí amenity park holds a fun day for all the family. The event will be the first in a series of organised activities to bring the intended Midland Amenity Park to reality for the town of Moate and its surrounding communities.
The day will feature lots of attractions for all ages, ranging from music by local groups to good food and games for all the family. So if your interests run to books, bric-a-brac, Irish dancing, fresh local produce, or games for the children, then the Dún na Sí park will be the place to be.
The event will also host an inaugural tug of war competition for the town’s public houses, a céilí, lots of interesting demonstrations, and allows guided access to Dún na Sí, the wonderful cow park lands, and the beautiful wildlife sanctuary.
So keep an eye out for the local information leaflets, visit Moate.ie, or just show up on the day between 2 and 6pm, and learn about how the new park at Dún na Sí will prove to be a wonderful amenity for the whole town of Moate in the years to come.
