The Garden Gallery & Garden Centre in Crowenstown offers something truly unique to their customers. The owners have renovated the once garden shed into a stunning art gallery filled with top quality art works, officially opened by Graham Knuttel in October 2010. Proprietor Hazel Revington-Cross is an accomplished artist herself, so it made sense to combine an art gallery with the existing garden centre, and they have been lucky to secure the works of some of Ireland’s leading artists.
Since opening the gallery, the owners have had a very positive response from their visitors, who are impressed by the diverse range of artistic styles and talents in the gallery. Visitors are also pleasantly surprised to discover a selection of giftware, candles, costume jewellery, and homemade chutneys, pickles, and preserves.
The gallery is situated at the back of the garden centre which is in a wonderfully rustic setting. It was important for the owners to retain the feel of a cottage garden over the years and they have managed to do this very well. It is not uncommon for a hen or guinea fowl to pass you by, or a cat to befriend you, as you browse. They offer a wide variety of garden plants, stunning hanging baskets, and quality bedding plants. No container or planter is too old or too odd to be filled. They even plant up old wellies...just bring them along empty.
