Glendeer Pet Farm to hold Easter egg hunts over Easter weekend

Once again Glendeer Pet Farm, Drum, Athlone will host its annual Easter egg hunt over the Easter weekend, from Saturday April 23 to Monday April 25 at 3pm each day.

Glendeer Pet Farm (five miles west of Athlone, take exit 13 off M6 and follow the signs for Drum ) is a very interactive experience as people can feed, pet, and even hold some of the animals. There is a variety of domestic and exotic animals, including monkeys, wallabies, and tortoises, not to mention the babies that are arriving every day including gost kids, baby llama, rabbits, lambs, and a jersey calf.

The egg hunts provide great excitement and entertainment for young and old. There is a separate egg hunt for children under four to ensure everyone gets to collect chocolate eggs.

Glendeer is suitable for any weather as there are indoor and outdoor picnic and play areas, along with a large selection of the animals undercover. Children can enjoy the various fun activities in the playground, while adults enjoy fresh coffee/tea and homemade treats in the coffee shop.

Groups are catered for with a guided tour available by appointment.

Opening hours: Weekends only from now until April 16 and every day from then until October 2.

Opening times: Monday to Saturday 11am-6pm and Sunday 12pm-6pm.
