What are Artsarama up to?

Artsarama runs drama, art, musical theatre classes, holiday camps, day trips, theatre visits, audition work, tuition, first dance classes, kids parties, facepainting for fundraising, and much more.

Artsarama is a community-based provider of fun, friendly, and artistically enriched sessions where children and young people feel safe, learn, make friends, and have fun.

Running from St Brigid’s School in Mullingar, children and young people aged between five to 18 years can take part in drama, movement, art, play, and song sessions. They have a varied annual programme that promotes all aspects of the arts. Themes are relevant to class groups and their intentions are always for the students and themselves to try something new. They also have a number of arts workshops and theatre visits planned.

Skills and abilities they aim to develop include: a flair and passion for the arts; imagination and creativeness; increased self confidence; language and communication; body awareness; listening; coordination; rhythm; interaction between peers, adults, and volunteers; following instructions; self discipline; and a sense of fun and enjoyment in taking part in something.

They are now working towards their informal Showbiz show which will include songs, dances, sketches, and art work from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Miley Cyrus, Sweet Charity, Bedknob sand Broomsticks, and much more! Classes start back the week beginning Monday April 4.

Classes are lots of fun, they are hard work but kids make friends, try something new, learn new skills, and they tend to laugh an awful lot. Classes take place on a Monday and Thursday evening from 6pm-7pm in St Brigid’sSchool, Mullingar. Here’s the best bit: they are only €5 a class!

Information about these trips, other classes, show and tell DVDs, special rates, and what else is happening in Artsarama is available on their website www.artsarama.com or you can contact Sarah on (086 ) 3452984.
