Minister heralds arrival of summer

Clocks go forward this weekend

A refreshing reminder of the change in government came in unexpected guise yesterday with the arrival of an email from the Department of Justice.

Newly appointed Minister for Justice Alan Shatter very kindly emailed to inform us that ‘summer time’ is to commence at 1am Greenwich Mean Time this Sunday March 27.

“Clocks and watches should be put forward one hour at that time,” he instructed, the first time in our office’s collective memory that such a reminder had been sent, and thereby saving us a frantic couple of minutes’ googling.

One hopes that many a transition will be handled as smoothly by our new government as that from winter to summer!
